This is a family recipe passed down through at least four generations that I know of. Since it is made with mayonnaise, I don’t think it went past my great grandmother. Anyway, if you are looking for a great tasting roll that is fast & easy to make, this is it! Great flavor & a texture that is close to a soft biscuit. We usually eat them with stew, but they are great with butter & jelly, too.
2 cups self-rising flour
1/4 cup mayonnaise
1 cup milk
1 teaspoon sugar
Combine all ingredients, mixing well. Don’t over mix it, though.
Spoon, evenly, into lightly oiled or sprayed muffin pan.
Bake at 450 for 10 minutes, or until golden brown.
Makes 1 dozen.
