Barbecue Sauce

This sauce is great! Very easy to make and much, much cheaper than store bought. It can be made in advance and stored in the refrigerator. I’m planning to make a huge batch of it and canning it. If I ever make good on that threat, I will post the instructions.

2 cups water

1 1/2 cups apple cider vinegar

6 oz can of tomato paste

1 tablespoon yellow mustard

1 cup brown sugar, not packed

1 teaspoon liquid smoke

1/2 tablespoon salt

1/2 teaspoon onion powder

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon paprika

 

Combine ingredients & bring to a boil. Reduce heat & simmer, covered, for 1-2 hours, depending on how thick you want it.
